…Seriously?
No, but really. This was the flag of the northern African country Libya under rule of Muammar Gaddafi from 1977 until his overthrow in 2011. In that amount of time, Libya had the distinction of being the only country with a monochromatic flag.
I can see why Mr. Gaddafi chose green, because Libya is an Islam country, but he could’ve put the star and crescent seen on other Muslim countries’ flags;

…but he decided to just go with green. And I don’t mean any offense to Mr. Gaddafi or Libya itself (or if you are from Libya, invented a time machine, got a device that had this post, and time traveled to in between 1977-2011), but that is a lazy flag design choice.
Fortunately, when Mr. Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011, they switched to the flag used from 1951-1969. And that’s a relief to people like me (but unfortunately leaves a lot of encyclopedias made during the green flag time inaccurate).

–WHAT’S THE NEXT GOOD FLAG?–
