DUAL POST! Bad Flag: St. Martin, France

Today, we have something special.

The tiny French territory of St. Martin located in the Carribean, sharing an island with the Dutch Sint Maarten has two flags, neither of which are official.

Here’s flag one:

It contains a bunch of stuff, like a bird and a flower, and what may be butterflies. Medieval text on top, gradients all over, this flag basically is a seal on a bedsheet.

Now for flag two:

I hate this one. I hate it so much.

My main shortcoming with this is that it looks like the logo for a pharmaceutical company. You probably don’t need to hyphenate “Saint Martin”. French Caribbean is translated into English and French (which makes sense), but text on a flag is a no-no.

So both unofficial flags are bad, but which one is worse?

Thankfully, there is another flag I came across when getting both flags (which is harder than you think), but here it is, an alternate flag which is a million times better:

Nice!
