Bad Flag Special: Reacting to some funny Illinois flag submissions

As mentioned in Minnesota, Illinois is trying to replace their flag, and here are some of the goofiest flag submissions ever!

WARNING: These are low quality. Credit to the website Patch for these images.

This feels more like an ad for a goblin-themed restaurant in Illinois, rather than an actual state flag. But I’d be happy to fly this:

Hey, at least it’s accurate: Wooly mammoths did roam Illinois way back then.

The only thing about the symbolism is that the brown stripe represents the ‘Dave Matthews Band Bus incident’.

The person who submitted it says the meaning is “crystal clear” and that it speaks to the “true essence of Illinois,”, but I digress…

This is surprisingly a not popular design, because axolotls are quite popular these days…

I have no words…

This looks like a big graphic design no-no.

Wait… are we in Chicago of New York City????

Anyhoo, that’s all for now, but if you want to see more of these flops (and wha–oh yeah, the good ones that didn’t make it), visit this site: https://patch.com/illinois/springfield-il/illinois-flag-designs-questionable-crests-cutting-room-classics
