Holy smokes, CVT, this flag is one heck of a cesspool! Coal Valley Township’s Wikipedia page does not have a lot about the town, other than some stuff like population, the Quad Cities Airport being partly located here, and the town being named for–you guessed it–the nearby coal mines. This flag was used in the Battle of Gonzales, which was in the Texas Revolution, a war in which Texas (an independent country then) fought against Mexico, and the latter lost. Until Illinois decides to dump their old flag, Minnesota is the most recently-changed state flag. Having been adopted in May 2024, this flag certainly qualifies as a young-un!
